My sketchbooks are my playground. I and only I decide what I make in there, how I make it, and what it means.
My sketchbooks are where I grow and learn.
A sketchbook first and foremost is a private space, displaying drawings I make for myself, and not for an audience. It’s where I illustrate my life, my world and my personal view on it.
Within those pages, it really don’t care what other people think, and whether they do or don’t like what I do. From that comes a huge amount of freedom. Thus, I can allow myself to make mistakes. In fact, I realize those probably aren’t mistakes, but rather necessary for my process.
I trust it.
“I can’t draw cars” … so I drew cars (a lot)
